Hello Everyone!
My name is Ms. Moser. I am a certified K-12 librarian (aka media specialist), currently working as a K-5 elementary teacher-librarian for a school district in the northwest part of Iowa. I have been a librarian for 13 years and in that time I have seen the use of the school libraries I serve (currently NINE of them) change rapidly over the last decade + from the quiet place you go to read and get away from it all to the buzzing hive of information users searching online via computers to access the information they need for that homework problem or report or just using the computer to figure out which books we might have in the library.
Times change, old books are updated with new books, technology is constantly evolving to meet the needs of our 21st century students and staff. But books and technology do not have to compete! They each have their own place in our lives and sometimes those places even overlap!
This blog will show you how that's done. Sometimes we will post about books, old and new, that might be fun reads or great for resources for learning. Sometimes we will post about new technologies (hardware, software, websites) that can be used in the classroom. Sometimes we will even post how books and technology combine to show off each other and create fun and exciting ways that students can use technology to learn more about books and reading!
Please come back often and check us out as there are always new books and new technologies to encourage a love of reading!
